The Illinois Community College Student Activities Association (ICCSAA) was started in 1978 when student activities professionals from eight community colleges in Illinois established the constitutional foundation for a statewide organization:
- To represent the concerns and interests of Illinois community college student activities professionals to state organizations while facilitating communication among colleges.
- To facilitate student development by providing opportunities for educational experiences
in student activities and related areas. - To provide continuity and coordination to those statewide student organizations that have
an impact on student activities and/or services at individual community college campuses. - To support and assist the development of student activities programs and/or services in
Illinois community colleges.
The ICCSAA is a commission of the Illinois Council of Community College Administrators and is the oldest of only three community college student activities associations in the United States.
